One Night Only
“Shall we have a drink?”
I Woo-jin slid a glass of liquor across the table toward Yu-won. She nodded barely, her throat tight with barely contained tension.
`Is the proposal from last night still valid?` `- Come home with me.`
I Woo-jin’s curt reply landed. Yu-won rose at once and called a taxi, heading to his residence.
The villa in Hannam-dong was elegant, modern, and quiet. She had ridden in the car he had driven several times before, yet the atmosphere felt entirely different. Now she stepped inside for the first time. The soaring ceilings, the cold marble floors, the vast floor-to-ceiling windows only amplified her unease.
She tossed the drink back in one swallow. Her heart, as if scalded, finally began to quiet.
“Hah…”
A fierce heat bloomed down her throat. Her head spun.
Only then did courage return. She wiped the corner of her mouth and released a hot breath.
“…I have one condition.”
“Only one night.”
A plain, unadorned “Yes,” and I Woo-jin refilled her glass. Half the previous measure.
“Hah—”
She drained it again. The room tilted. The liquor spread through her veins like fire.
“Nothing should change at the company.”
“Of course.”
He nodded.
“Another one, please.”
She offered the glass, but he did not move.
“Enough.”
Exhausted, Yu-won reached for the bottle. I Woo-jin’s hand pressed lightly over hers, stilling it.
“I’m perfectly fine, sir.”
“I know.”
He rested one hand on the table and leaned toward her. Their bodies were not touching, yet heat flooded her skin.
His low voice brushed her ear.
“Shall we stop here?”
It sounded like a question, yet it was a command she could not refuse.
“…Yes.”
She had come here to drink, not for this.
Yu-won stood. Her steps wobbled.
“Careful.”
His hand caught her arm.
“I’m all right.”
She tried to twist free, but he held firm. In her twenties, when others fell in love and shared tender moments, Yu-won’s entire world had collapsed. She had no time for romance, no room for anyone’s heart.
A one-night affair?
What am I doing?
Self-awareness tightened her shoulders. The strong alcohol at least dulled her reason.
He would choose another woman to keep up appearances anyway. One night of pleasure would be nothing to him.
A night perfectly suited to Shin Yu-won’s fate.
Following the path of his retreating back, she stopped before the door that she assumed led to his bedroom.
“Enter.”
His voice carried a faint lock, and the door slid open.
Yu-won hesitated, then stepped inside.
“Ugh…”
Suddenly he slammed her against the wall. The hard planes of his chest crushed her. His chin jerked upward, forcing her mouth open, and he swallowed her in one savage kiss.
Her lower lip was sucked in. His tongue invaded, slick and ruthless.
Hot. Brutal.
“Mmgh…”
Every sound was crushed. His eyes, usually so calm, blazed.
Unsure what to do, Yu-won struggled. I Woo-jin guided her with effortless skill—lips colliding, tongues twisting, his hands always catching her retreating tongue.
She was trapped against the wall. There was no escape.
Her head spun from the liquor, not from the kiss. She no longer knew which.
“Hah…”
Breathless gasps tore from her throat. Strength drained from her legs. His cologne and searing heat assaulted her at once. Her mind blurred.
“…!”
She thought her feet had left the ground. She was suddenly on the bed. I Woo-jin stared down at her, fingers hooked into his tie, pulling it tight. It looked utterly unreal.
“W-wait—”
His heavy weight pinned her. The mattress sank. Yu-won scrambled backward. Her heart thundered so violently it felt ready to burst.
She had wanted to play the role of a practiced woman, cool and indifferent, as if this were nothing.
As if he expected it to be nothing.
Yet sweat already soaked her palms, clenched around the sheets.
“Why? Afraid to do something wrong once it starts?”
“…?”
She could not answer. Panic froze her tongue. A boulder sat in her throat. She edged toward the headboard.
He would not let her retreat. His large hand clamped her ankle and yanked her back.
“What’s the matter?”
The shadow of him hovered above her. Fingers slid through her hair.
“You thought I was just like that bastard? I’ll do so much better.”
Her breath caught at the blatant taunt. She shook her head desperately.
“No, that’s not—”
“Then what is?”
His fingers combed through her hair, then lowered to her nape.
“Hah…”
A shiver raced across her skin where his lips touched.
“Kiss me.”
She managed to force the words out, body trembling.
“Impossible.”
A low laugh rumbled from him.
“As you see.”
I Woo-jin caught her wrist and drew her down to his lap.
“…”
She felt something pulsing hot and heavy beneath her palm. Shock made her lift her head.
What…?
“Ugh!”
His lips clamped hard on her nape, swallowing every sound.
She did not understand, but he clung to her neck with relentless hunger. The sharp pleasure edged with pain made her spine stiffen.
Clothes began to peel away. Even as he stripped her, he pressed his mouth to each new inch of revealed skin, leaving marks like brands. The spots where his lips met burned. Yu-won twisted, stifling cries of pain.
Is this right? Can I truly do this with him?
“Stop thinking and focus.”
As if he had read her turmoil, his voice dropped.
“Ah…”
His hand finally slid beneath her waist.
Sparks exploded in her vision. Her hips jerked at the unfamiliar, overwhelming sensation, tears gathering.
The man gave a short, derisive laugh.
“So you did know I was a bad guy.”
His thumb wiped away the tears at her eye corner, then he whispered against her ear.
“Were you even scared?”
“N-no…!”
Her startled protest vanished into his mouth again.
I Woo-jin’s kisses grew fiercer.
“Mmgh—!”
Her swollen lower lip throbbed. Drool escaped, tracing her chin.
Her breath hitched. When she tried to slap his chest, he slowed, letting the liquor slide down his throat.
He exhaled a short breath, then tossed his shirt aside. The clink of the buckle rang out. Yu-won shut her eyes tight.
Tear—
He tore open a condom packet between his teeth with a gasp. Watching him, Yu-won froze. He eased down, body lowering slowly.
“Breathe.”
The plea sounded almost tender. Yu-won released the breath she had been holding.
“!”
The pressure built. She could not make a sound.
Blue veins bulged on his neck as he tensed.
“Relax.”
His hands encircled her narrow waist and commanded, “Do not move.”
She could not understand the words, only the unbearable stretch. Her breath came in shallow, desperate gasps.
“Relax, Shin Yu-won. You’ll feel better.”
“Ah…”
He nipped her earlobe. The sensation shot through her entire body.
As if awakening hidden senses, I Woo-jin kissed every inch of her—neck, collarbone, breasts. Her skin grew scalding. She felt on the verge of shattering.
“Hah…”
Her mind went white. No thoughts remained. She felt herself shattering, scattering.
Yet the broken, messy feeling was strangely satisfying.
It had been exactly what she wanted.
Yu-won opened her hazy eyes and looked at the man above her.
The man who had always been so calm now burned. His eyes held her reflection, clear and unmistakable.
Without thinking, her hand rose to him. She trailed down his firm chest, over the hard ridges of his abs.
“…Damn it.”
I Woo-jin bit out a curse.
His sharp jaw clenched. His grip on her waist tightened painfully.
“Well done.”
He pulled her up in one motion and pinned her hands behind his back.
“Ah…”
The man who had lost control was ruthless.
Breath grew ragged. Vision flickered. Tears streamed down his flushed cheeks, wiped away by his lips.
“Aah!”
A massive wave crashed over her. Her mind emptied. Her body reacted beyond reason.
Even after the storm passed, I Woo-jin did not release her. He lifted her hips again and drove into her with renewed heat.
What she remembered was only this: how fierce he had been, and how she had clung to him and screamed in mindless ecstasy.
Yu-won surrendered to the fading consciousness.
