"Jenna Saa, you may run if you wish. But remember this: I will chase you to the ends of the earth." Known as the Emperor’s scent, his mistress, and the catalyst for civil war, Saa Uskel was the most infamous Countess in the Pades Empire. Trapped in the Emperor’s gilded cage, she attempts to escape. "Your Majesty, this time, you will never be able to catch me." She chooses to flee through death, but upon waking, she finds herself returned to her girlhood. Now, as Saa Silis rather than Saa Uskel, her only wish is freedom—and to protect those dear to her. As her past and present lives collide and diverge, Akalan, a nobleman from Pimenta, approaches her and proposes a contract engagement. "If you want your freedom, take my hand." "Herrn Akalan, I'm sorry, but I will use you." What future will their two lives weave together? Will Saa truly be able to attain her freedom?
